Sprinkler repair & installation in Miramar, FL

Miramar is home. The shop address is on SW 30th St, which means Miramar calls usually get same-day or next-morning attention rather than a slot three days out.

Miramar splits in two

Red Road is the dividing line for irrigation work in this city. East of it, in Historic Miramar, the houses mostly went up between the 1950s and the 1970s and the systems went in with them. What we find there is brittle PVC that cracks when you look at it wrong, heads that have sunk three inches below grade after forty years of sod and topdressing, and valve boxes nobody has opened since the Carter administration. Those jobs are slow and careful, because every fitting you touch is a candidate to fail next.

West of Flamingo the picture reverses. Silver Lakes, Monarch Lakes, Sunset Lakes and Riviera Isles are big lots on big systems, often eight to twelve zones hung off one controller. The pipe is usually fine. The failures are electrical and mechanical at the ends: a solenoid that will not pull in, a wire nut that corroded in a flooded valve box, a master valve that sticks half-open and keeps the mainline charged.

Hard water and old controllers

Two things come up in Miramar more than anywhere else on our route. The first is scale. The water here is hard enough that mist nozzles and filters crust up within a couple of seasons, which shows as a zone that looks like it is running but is throwing half the water it should. Cleaning or swapping nozzles fixes it, and it is a cheap visit.

The second is the controller. Builders in the 2000s installed whatever cost the least, and a twenty-year-old mechanical timer physically cannot hold a two-day-a-week schedule or skip a week when it rains. A lot of Miramar homeowners are watering illegally without knowing it, purely because the clock on the garage wall cannot do what the county now requires.

What we do in Miramar

Zone-by-zone diagnostics

We run every zone and watch it before quoting. On an older Historic Miramar system that first pass is most of the value — you get a written list of what works, what leaks and what is finished.

Valve and solenoid repair

The usual answer to a west-side zone that will not start, or one that will not shut off. Diagnosed at the valve box with a meter, not guessed at from the controller.

Controller upgrades

A Wi-Fi controller holds the Wednesday/Saturday or Thursday/Sunday schedule by itself and skips a cycle when it rains. On a ten-zone Miramar system it usually pays for itself on the water bill.

New installation

Zones designed around your actual lot — sun, shade, slope, bed layout. Trenched, pressure-tested and tuned before we leave.

Broward County is under a year-round two-day-a-week landscape irrigation schedule: odd addresses Wednesday and Saturday, even addresses Thursday and Sunday, and never between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Confirm the current rules with City of Miramar Utilities — official schedule.

Questions from Miramar

How fast can you get to a job in Miramar?

We are based here, so Miramar is the shortest drive we make. Most calls are scheduled same day or next morning. A zone that will not shut off is treated as urgent — call rather than email, because water is running the whole time you wait.

Can you work on a system the builder installed?

Yes, and most of west Miramar is exactly that. Builder systems are usually sound in the pipe and weak at the head and the controller, so the repair is often a lot cheaper than people expect when they call.

My zone looks like it is running but the grass is still brown. Why?

Usually scale. Hard water crusts the nozzle orifice and the zone filter, and the zone keeps running on schedule while delivering a fraction of the water. We check flow at the head before assuming it is a coverage or run-time problem.

Do you do lawn mowing or landscaping?

No. Sprinklers and irrigation only — installation, repair, diagnostics and controllers. That is the entire business, which is why we are good at it.
